Healthy Sales Calls As A Health Coach, Consultant, or Expert

If you’re a health coach or consultant, chances are you didn’t get into the business to become a salesperson. But the reality is, to be successful, you need to be able to sell your services. While selling can be challenging for anyone, there are certain things about sales that health coaches and consultants seem to hate more than most.

Here are 5 that I’ve seen in my own business:

Dealing with rejection

Rejection is a part of sales, but it’s something that can be especially tough for health coaches and consultants to deal with. After all, you’re not just selling a product — you’re selling yourself and your expertise. So, when someone says no to your service, it can feel like a personal rejection.

Having to constantly sell

The grind never stops. You’re always selling, whether you’re on the phone with a client or leading a workshop or writing an email blast. For health coaches and consultants, this can be tough because it’s hard to maintain authenticity when you’re always “on.”

The pressure to close every sale

The pressure is always on to close the deal. For health coaches and consultants, this can be particularly challenging because there’s often an emotional component involved in selling their services. When you care about your work as much as health coaches and consultants do, it can be difficult to walk away from a sale that doesn’t end up happening.

The fear of being seen as “pushy”

Health coaches and consultants are often afraid of coming across as pushy or sales-y when they’re trying to sell their services. This fear can hold them back from being truly effective in their sales efforts.

Challenges of selling online

Selling online can be tough for health coaches and consultants because they need to find ways to stand out and be visible in a sea of other service providers. They also need to build trust with potential clients who may not have ever met them in person.
